Zepp Health is dedicated to helping people live better and healthier lives. Since its founding in 2013, it has provided hundreds of millions of smart wearable devices, through its global smart wearables brand, Amazfit, to consumers worldwide. On the occasion of Earth Day 2023, we are delighted to share our journey of product design with everyone.
Smart wearable devices are one of the very few devices that can be in contact with the human body 24/7, monitoring health data and all kinds of sports data day and night, indoors and outdoors. With this in mind, we continue to iterate and optimize our product design to make our products and features more sustainable, in order to better suit people's needs and coexist more harmoniously with nature.
As smartwatches are worn on the wrist, we need to consider the size and comfort of the product. Therefore, it's therefore not always feasible to improve battery life by increasing battery size or capacity. Frequent charging can also be a nuisance during daily routines, as well as cause the consumption of more power resources. So, our approach to sustainability starts from the system level, with the development of the exclusive Zepp OS operating system. This proprietary operating system for smartwatches has a simple and efficient architecture, which makes application processes more convenient and power-conserving. This not only saves power resources, but also enables even longer health monitoring.
The Zepp OS has now evolved to version 2.0 and is again deeply optimized for energy efficiency. The system is also equipped with powerful connectivity and expansion capabilities, making it easier for users to connect to third-party peripherals like heart rate belts.
Functionality and applications are continuously optimized for energy efficiency.
Before each product is launched, we strive to make our features smarter and more user-friendly.
For the newly released Amazfit T-Rex Ultra in our outdoor Adventure Series, there were two major considerations that users are particularly concerned about: GPS accuracy and battery life while using GPS continuously. So, in order to bring the accuracy and power-efficiency that outdoor explorers need for their longer adventures, we introduced the new Automatic GPS Mode and the Endurance GPS Mode.
When the Automatic GPS Mode is engaged, the watch will intelligently adjust GPS settings based on the strength of the GPS signal in the area, while maintaining positioning accuracy, in order to conserve battery power in areas with strong and steady signals. The Amazfit T-Rex Ultra can achieve a battery life of up to 46 hours in this mode.
The Endurance GPS Mode is specifically designed for long-distance outdoor hiking and climbing. When this mode is enabled, the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra can achieve an astonishing battery life of up to 80 hours, fully meeting the needs of users who engage in extreme outdoor activities.
Introduction of biodegradable packaging materials to reduce environmental impact.
The application of biodegradable packaging materials to reduce the impact on the environment is essential. We are aware that the outer packaging material of the watch is also an important component that can be optimized by eliminating unnecessary parts, and using more environmentally friendly and biodegradable materials. Taking our latest model, the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra, as an example, we have used a significant amount of eco-friendly materials, including:
-
100% environmentally friendly and biodegradable materials for packaging.
-
Plastic materials account for only 6% of the entire packaging, and the plastic packaging material is biodegradable.
-
Non-mineral ink can completely biodegrade naturally.
-
The use of electroplated aluminum in the hot stamping process is also biodegradable.
As a leading global smart wearables company, we continue to make greater efforts in environmental protection. We also hope to bring environmental awareness and consciousness to everyone through our carefully crafted smart wearables and a range of health services, because there is only one Earth, and it concerns us all.
